Your PhD - golden ticket into a bright future?
PhD holders are arguably the smartest people on the planet. That’s why it is almost painful for us to watch, that spending years and years in the academic environment has given them all those misconceptions that prevents them from living their full potential. That’s why it is now time to clean up the most limiting of them.

„My only skill is research, so a postdoc position is my only option.“
This belief allows you to stay in your academic comfort zone. It’s an environment you know. But it’s a false comfort zone. Because as a postdoc you are underpaid, you get less and less attractive for industry over the years and the fear of not getting your contract renewed every year will burn you out.

„I need to get another qualification to be attractive for industry employers.“
That is not correct. Getting an MBA would not just cost you thousands of Euros in tuition. It would also cost you two years, that you could already spent building your career and actually making money. Instead of getting another degree, invest a few weeks into building the knowledge and skills to find your dream job now.

„My PhD alone is enough to get me hired.“
Well, … No! Your PhD allows you to apply for top-level positions. However, you have to prove that you actually qualify for a top-level position. Your resume, cover letter and also your interviewing skills have to be as top-level as the job you strive for. Furthermore, you have to be able to clearly communicate the value you will bring for your potential employer.

„I will find a job by just searching for job offers on job search platforms.“
Applying to jobs that were publicly advertised seems like the obvious way to find a job. But because it is so obvious, everybody uses it. And that makes it competitive. At the same time, companies don’t like to hire this way. That is why only 20% of jobs are publicly advertised. What you see on job-platforms is only the tip of the iceberg. To find a top job and avoid competition from all the other applicants, you want to access the „hidden job-market“.

„I haven’t been contacted by recruiters yet because I’m overqualified.“
You put “open to work” on your LinkedIn but nobody contacted you? It’s not because you are overqualified. It’s because you are invisible to potential employers and recruiters. Chances are that your LinkedIn profile is optimized so little that recruiters couldn’t even find you if they were searching for you.

„To find a job in German industry, I need C-level German skills.“
That is not correct. There are a lot of multinational companies and also startups in Germany with English as the official company language. That means, as long as you have good English skills, a lack of German skills will not prevent you from finding an industry job in Germany.

What they have to say about us
Don’t take our word for it – here’s what people who We’ve worked with have to say:

Egor B.
[...] Since this is my first position in Europe, the information I received in our workshops was extremely useful and helped me optimize the entire job search process as much as possible. It was a real revelation to understand how important it is for the resume to pass as many layers of automatic filtering as possible to reach HR definitely. Although I was looking for a job in IT, not in academia, I am absolutely sure that without the training, the entire process could have taken three times longer, or maybe even more. However, in reality, I found a job quite quickly, especially given the unstable job market, and I ended up in a company that is very close to my heart. Thank you!

Zhaoyan L., PhD
When I started looking for jobs, I applied to 20+ positions but was either ghosted or received generic rejections without explanation. This program gave me a clear strategy—from optimizing my applications to mastering networking and interview preparation. The support didn’t stop after the course ended—Lira and Tobi continued to guide me in my long and tough journey. Thanks to this program, I not only gained confidence but also got an offer!

Liza F.
When I started looking for a job, I was quite concerned about how to present my qualifications effectively in the European job market. With a background in biology, it was particularly challenging to emphasize my IT skills and make my profile stand out. That’s why the support I received through the program was so valuable. Lira and Tobias helped me refine my CV and optimize my LinkedIn profile, which significantly improved my job search strategy. After completing the program, my confidence increased noticeably compared to when I first started. I also achieved tangible results – after updating my LinkedIn profile, I began receiving messages from recruiters almost daily.
